blocks as per the old London Phone Directories in use during the
first flowering of the Kinks and which could then still be found
in various feathered and ripped states of dishevelment (or, if
you were lucky, at all, and never the one you wanted) in the classic
Gilbert Scott red phone boxes that these days can only be found
in scenic rural locations ...
