The
2008 E-M-F Company Outing will also be the E-M-F Centennial Celebration, celebrating the people, automobiles and enduring legacy of the Everitt-Metzger-Flanders Company.
We hope to have a historic gathering of as many E-M-Fs and Flanders automobiles as possible. We also encourage participation of owners of the following automobiles that were an important part of the E-M-F story:
- Wayne
- Northern
- Everitt
- Studebaker (though 1913)
- Flanders Motorcylces and Electrics
This event has been years in the making and is planned to be held July 13th - 19th in the Chelsea, Michigan area (west of Detroit).
The event is now being planned as one event with multiple activities all centering out of Chelea, MI.
We will include a gathering of E-M-F's, Flanders and Everitts, at the site of Walter Flanders Mansion and garage on one of the days. This activity will be highly publicized and include a dedication of a state historical marker honoring Walter Flanders. We are hoping to get as many cars as we can back together at the mansion and garage for a picture on that day and car show open to the public.
We will also travel into Detroit on one of the days to visit the site of the E-M-F Plant on Piquette street, visit the Ford Piquette plant, the automotive hall of fame and other sites.
The schedule is being replanned now and this site will be updated as new information is passed to me.
